A Bit Of Flexsteel History 1930-1939

The original Flexsteel company, Northome Furniture Industries, Inc., continued its success before and after the stock market crash of 1929 and through the Great Depression years as it manufactured and sold furniture. The Sanitas Spring Company changed its name to the Flexsteel Spring Corporation in 1934. Northhome Furniture started to guarantee the Flexsteel spring system for life. In 1936 the company was relocated in Dubuque, Iowa and established conveyor production lines.
